Abstract

Abstract
The rapid and ever-increasing spread of mass media has led to different consequences in various national areas in societies, which the social security feeling, as a significant social, political construct, can be considered as one of these affected areas. The present study was carried out to investigate the relationship between international mass media usage and the social security feeling using survey method, questionnaire research tool and SPSS and  AMOS software. The statistical population of this research includes all citizens of Kermanshah city. Using Cochran formula, a sample consisting of 384 citizens aged 18 years and over has been studied. The results show that there is a significant negative relationship between the use of satellite (P = -0/42), Internet (P = -0/16) and virtual social networks (P = -0/25) with social security feeling. The correlation coefficient of  multivariate regression analysis also (R= -0/45) indicates that there is a moderate correlation between the set of independent variables and the dependent variable of the research (i.e. social security feeling). Moreover, the findings from the structural equation modeling show that the impact of international mass media usage on the social security feeling is equal to -0/52. Accordingly, we can conclude that the negative impact of international mass media usage, especially the satellite usage, on the social security feeling is serious and significant. So, the condition should change in awaythat minimize its negative impact.
